Job Summary: Draftsman (Architect)
A Draftsman (Architect) plays a critical role in architectural design and construction projects. They are responsible for preparing detailed technical drawings and plans for buildings and structures, based on specifications provided by architects and engineers. Using computer-aided design (CAD) software and traditional drafting techniques, a Draftsman translates conceptual designs into accurate, scaled drawings, including floor plans, elevations, sections, and detailed construction documents.
Key Responsibilities:
• Create accurate architectural drawings and blueprints from rough sketches and specifications provided by architects.
• Prepare detailed drawings of building layouts, including floor plans, elevations, and sections.
• Work closely with architects, engineers, and other team members to ensure that designs meet project requirements and building codes.
• Revise plans based on feedback from clients, architects, and engineers.
• Use CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) to create and update drawings.
• Ensure that drawings comply with building regulations, zoning laws, and other relevant standards.
• Collaborate with construction teams to ensure that plans are feasible and practical for execution.
Qualifications:
• Minimum 5 years experience
•Experience in municipal rules and how to submit plans
• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit) and knowledge of 3D modeling.
• Strong understanding of architectural design principles, building codes, and construction methods.
• Excellent attention to detail and precision in drawing and drafting.
• Good communication and collaboration skills for working with architects, engineers, and contractors.
